Conex Bänninger takes pole position at new Silverstone hotel

Conex Bänninger’s innovative >B< Press and >B< Press XL fittings have been specified as part of the development of the new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel at the historic Silverstone circuit.

The stunning new hotel complex, part of a series of works which aim to make Silverstone economically viable for the next 50 years, boasts fantastic views across the racetrack’s famous starting grid.  It features 197 stylish bedrooms, a rooftop terrace, restaurant and coffee shop.

As part of the project, the design, supply, installation and testing of the hotel’s mechanical systems was awarded to Grove Mechanical, one of the leading and most reputable mechanical installation contractors across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Grove Mechanical specified Conex Bänninger’s >B< Press and >B< Press XL fittings as the ideal pipework jointing solution for the project based on the product’s speed and ease of install.

“That’s one of the key reasons why we specified press-fit fittings for the vast majority of the heating and plumbing system’s pipework jointing over more traditional methods like soldering and brazing.  Press-fit is so much quicker, a lot less hassle, and you don’t need to apply for a hot work licence either, saving valuable time and money.”

Conex Bänninger’s >B< Press and >B< Press XL are a versatile press fitting system for use with hard, half-hard and soft copper tube.  This flame-free solution features an innovative 3-point press, creating  secure, permanent and leak-free joints that are suitable for multiple applications, with one press either side of the bead and a third on the O-ring.

The fittings, which have an unpressed joint indicator so joints that are not completely secure can be easily identified, are available in 12mm to 54mm (>B< Press) and 64mm to 108mm (>B< Press XL).
