Background

>B< MaxiPro supports renovation during a change of use. In the past, spices were produced and processed in this building. Today it is home of the Württemberg State Library. The distributor Reiss Kälte-Klima from Stuttgart and the refrigeration system builder Dautel & Beuttenmüller GmbH & Co. KG chose >B< MaxiPro to renew the heating system of the existing building.

Where spices were once produced and stored, there are now over 6.2 million documents, images and other media content. In addition to the correct conservation of the holdings, there are also about 130 employees working in the building. Besides the daily tasks of a library, there are many events held in the rooms of the Württembergische Landesbibliothek. In short: WLB.

The project, which was planned by Mr. Colbus from Dautel & Beuttenmüller GmbH & Co. KG, consisted of the following tasks: Dismantling of the old oil heating system and commissioning of the Panasonic heat pumps for heating and cooling. Since the connecting pipes were several kilometers long, it was decided to go with >B< MaxiPro for the new installation. The total heating capacity of the system is 1.5 mW. The refrigerant R410A is used for direct evaporation. The system was designed to operate in 10 refrigeration circuits with 31 VRF outdoor units and 41 duct units.

A big project, but the highlight is the installation of the system. By using >B< MaxiPro, the installation time was completed in half the expected time. All this without much training, without a flame and without gas purging of the pipe network. Every connection is created in less than 5 seconds and has the same high quality - even in places that are otherwise difficult to reach while brazing with a flame.

For converting the building from Gewürzmüller into the WLB, the planning office was also the installation company. The focus was placed on efficiency, usability and sustainability.

Frank Zielke, Business Unit Director for Central Europe at Conex Bänninger is pleased about such projects: “I am glad that we were able to excite the customer. There was no need for brazing, the risk of a fire was eliminated, and the installation time was significantly reduced. We are particularly pleased to be a trusted partner of the Württemberg State Library”.

>B< MaxiPro was specifically developed for refrigeration applications up to 48 bar operating pressure and can be used with hard, half hard or annealed copper tube. Thanks to the innovative press technology, a permanently tight connection is created in just a few seconds. This simplifies the work on the construction site significantly. The flame-free connection also provides enormous time savings and increased safety. This is because hot works permits are no longer required, there is no need for gas purging and fire watches are also redundant. At the same time, there is no risk of fire for the employees at any time, because the connection is created purely mechanically.
