Press-fit webinar to discuss new tech and training
Efforts to develop press-fit solutions for a broader range of air conditioning and refrigeration applications will be among the key discussion points of an upcoming RAC webinar.
The webinar, entitled ‘Press-fit – a skills revolution for RACHP applications’, is being held in association with Conex Bänninger to discuss how it has been adapting its flame-free tools in line with the development of the RACHP sector. The free-to-attend 90 minute event will start at 10am on 30 October.
Some of the developments to be discussed will include working with contractors and engineers to look at how brazing alternatives might factor into the design of higher capacity VRF and air conditioning systems.
Conex Bänninger will be discussing its recent innovations that includes the >B< Flow system, a customised Y-joint.
On a commercial level, Conex Bänninger said the launch reflects a company-wide focus on providing an alternative to hot works in certain systems. It will also discuss the types of projects that might benefit most from making use of press-fit with the aim to curb installation time for certain systems.
The webinar, hosted by RAC editor Neil Merrett, will be split into several sessions focused on some of the core technical and skills considerations when deciding whether to make use of press-fit tools in the cooling sector.
He will be joined by Mike Lucken, the company’s regional technical sales manager for ACR, to talk about some of the main considerations in helping engineers understand where engineers might be able to adopt flame-free work.
The discussions will touch on the company’s work to directly work with companies on projects and how developments such as its 1 5/8 inch fittings reflect some of the main market changes with regards to cooling systems.
The company will share its experience with engineers to adapt their working patterns to incorporate press-fit in some form to support air conditioning systems in both new build projects and much older buildings that have unique installation challenges.
Webinar attendees will also receive an exclusive presentation on how the press-fit market is evolving to address different RACHP needs in line with the company’s claims that its systems can help complement brazing.
Skills and certification
In the second half of the webinar, company will talk about what it sees as the growing importance of offering training, user certification and direct engagement with engineers. One of the aims of this work is to understand where technologies can add to their existing skills with regards to operating and maintaining critical cooling. This has included directly working with training colleges and students.
Both sessions will offer the opportunity to put questions directly to the company’s experts about press-fit.
