Bulgaria: Stainless Steel Heating Installation in the Zlaten Vek building
Background
Zlaten Vek is one of the most distinctive modern architectural developments in Sofia, Bulgaria, located in the prestigious Lozenets district. The building reaches a height of approximately 120 metres and consists of 34 floors, offering mainly premium residential apartments.
Developed by Arteks, the tower combines high-end residential spaces with an impressive spectrum of commercial and service areas – including the Museum of Bulgarian Christian Culture and History, office floors, fitness and spa facilities, restaurants and cafés, making it a distinctive landmark within Sofia’s contemporary skyline.
Due to the scale and height of the project, the building’s technical systems required solutions that would ensure long-term durability, reliability and stable operation. The heating installation was particularly important, as it needed to operate efficiently throughout a multi-storey structure while meeting high safety and performance standards.
Products
For the heating installation in the Zlaten Vek building, stainless steel pipes and fittings from the <A> Press INOX 304 system were used.
The installation incorporated fittings in sizes from 28 mm to 89 mm, allowing the system to be adapted to different sections of the heating network throughout the building.
Stainless steel is widely valued for its durability and corrosion resistance, making it an excellent choice for heating and technical installations in modern buildings. The use of <A> Press INOX 304 pipes and fittings ensures stable system performance while reducing the need for maintenance.
Installation
The heating installation required a system capable of reliable operation across multiple floors. Stainless steel pipework and fittings provided the mechanical strength and corrosion resistance necessary for such a demanding high-rise environment.
The material properties of INOX 304 stainless steel also enabled efficient installation while maintaining high quality standards throughout the entire system.
The Zlaten Vek project in Sofia demonstrates that stainless steel remains one of the most reliable materials for modern heating installations in large-scale building developments.
The <A> Press INOX 304 system provided durable and secure connections, meeting the project’s requirements for both installation efficiency and long-term system performance.
