K65 in 2 5/8″ size – new opportunities for large CO₂ installations

The Conex Bänninger K65 range continues to grow. The high-pressure fitting system is now available in a new 2 5/8″ size – the largest size in the entire range, opening up new possibilities for designers and contractors working on large commercial refrigeration projects.

Why does 2 5/8″ matter?

Until now, the K65 range covered sizes from 3/8″ to 2 1/8″. The new 2 5/8″ size responds to the growing market demand for efficient, high-pressure CO₂ refrigeration systems in large commercial and industrial facilities, including shopping centres, cold storage warehouses, large supermarkets and food processing plants.

The larger diameter offers:

• increased refrigerant flow capacity,
• the ability to design larger and more complex systems without the need for steel components,
• all the proven benefits of the K65 system – lightweight construction, ease of installation and pressure resistance up to 130 bar.

The new size maintains all key technical characteristics of the K65 range:

• material: high-strength copper-iron alloy developed by Wieland,
• maximum operating pressure: 130 bar,
• designed for CO₂ (R-744) refrigerant systems,
• installation by brazing,
• 25-year warranty when installed correctly.

Who is it for?

The new 2 5/8″ size has been developed primarily for designers and contractors involved in large-scale refrigeration projects where steel solutions were previously required.

Now it is possible to stay with the proven K65 system – lighter, easier to install and equally reliable.
